Rebecca Hallam hates the restrictions of a girl's life in 1784 New Bedford and longs for adventure, while Joshua Lockwood, indentured to Rebecca's whaling captain father, is terrified of the ocean. They find themselves unlikely allies when they're caught aboard one of Rebecca's father's ships in a hurricane.
